About

Hello everyone!

Thank you everyone for electing us as the new board of the British chapter of the Digital Games Research Association. We would like to thank Dr Tom Brock for his leadership of the previous board, and the work and effort that led us through a difficult but productive couple of years. We are honoured and delighted to represent the chapter and hope you will join us in building this community even further.

The board has selected a few areas to prioritise over the next two years, with the support of the British DiGRA community. We have selected these areas with the help with the community that joined us at Birmingham City University for our 2025 conference (and thank you again to Poppy Wilde and Nick Webber for their exceptional efforts) and we are of course happy to adapt as we move forward.

We aim to focus on:

Expanding and Specialising our networks. We will continue to strive to bring together different research communities across the UK, but also build better connections with industry, and activist and advocacy groups. Based on community feedback, we will also start creating specialised working groups within the community. We will further aim to connect with other DiGRA chapters and consider possible outreach and public engagement work.

Providing Resources. We will start compiling databases of existing research networks, labs, and other communities across the UK, as well as experts and ongoing projects. We will also continue to improve our online resources and communities to facilitate resource sharing, including research, syllabi, and opportunities.

Building Support. We will aim to improve our support of a diverse and increasingly inclusive community. We will continue to organise events – formal and informal – and provide spaces for community building and support. We will keep equality, diversity, and inclusion at the centre of our activities and considerations.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch for any reason.
